Atha Sharod Bridal, Bryan K. Osburn, and Horacio Nieto, all Chicago-based bridal gown designers, will be hosting a luxury bridal gown event showcasing Chicago Couture at the University Club of Chicago on October 2nd, 2011. Pairing with Allen/Williams Events, a boutique event planning firm, they will feature their respective fashion repertoires on the runway.
Atha Sharod Bridal, who was recently featured on The Scene on NBC5, designs gowns of French silk and imported lace. Bryan Osburn, who has worked with the famed Vera Wang, brings avant-garde bridal designs to the Chicago fashion industry. Horacio Nieto, a nationally published artist and designer, is well known for winning the Latino Fashionista competition in New York City.
In order to participate in this event, each designer must live and work in Chicago. Also, their gowns are are produced either in the Chicago area or in the United States of America. This way, clients know they are truly stimulating economy by buying locally.
I believe it s important to show the fashion world, and especially that of bridal couture, that Chicago has much to offer, says Nicole E. Williams of Allen/Williams Events. A discerning client shouldn t have to travel to New York or Los Angeles or utilize a designer from Europe. She can get true haute couture right in her own hometown.
Recognizing the uniqueness of this partnership, several of Chicago s top bridal professionals have elected to co-sponsor the event, including CS Brides Magazine, Benjamin Cottrell, Zuzu s Petals Floral, Rick Aguilar Studios, Visage Joli, Spa on Oak, The Left Bank Jewelry, and others.
Proceeds for this event will benefit Medical Ministry International, an organization committed to meeting the need for medical care worldwide including Haiti, Africa, South America, and the Caribbean with lasting solutions through excellence in medicine, patient care, and health education.
