Chile seeks to attract Chinese investment

Chile is wooing more Chinese companies to invest in the South American country, the Committee of Foreign Investment (CFI) said Thursday.
The CFI's executive vice president Matias Mori is scheduled to visit China in late April and attend investment forums there.
The committee said they are already "in a process to reach agreements" with some Chinese trade organizations, so as to better promote Chile to the Chinese investors.
Chinese companies' interest in investing in Chile has "notably increased" in recent years and their interests are mainly concentrated in the areas of energy, mining and infrastructure, the CFI said.
