China is expected to take 8 percent of the global tourism market share in 2013, becoming the world's second largest tourism market, according to the latest research report released by strategic business consulting firm Boston Consulting Group.
The report titled "Taking Off: Travel and Tourism in China and Beyond" discussed the expansion of China's tourism market and its uniqueness. It notes that China's tourism industry is still in its infancy. Intense competition, few innovations and slight differences between providers characterize almost all segments of the tourism industry.
An officer from Ctrip.com said that the demand from Chinese consumers in the tourism industry is increasingly higher. Both the wealthy and the emerging middle-class at various tiers of cities are after trustworthy brands and services. This will provide firms that embrace innovation with golden development opportunities.
Ctrip.com has taken the lead in offering new types of tourist services in China, such as Internet-driven online tourist services. It seeks to understand the characteristics of China's tourism market, particularly the needs of young customers and is committed to offering customized products and services to different groups of customers. It provides millions of customers with high-quality and highly satisfying modern tourist services each year.
