Qinghai launches its first int'l cooperation in sports science

Japan's Sendai University Taiji Houzawa, the president of Sendai University of Japan, signed an international exchange agreement with Qinghai Provincial Institute of Sport Science on March 7, the day he visited Qinghai Duoba National Plateau Sports Training Base for academic exchanges.
This was the first time for Qinghai, the Chinese inner plateau province, to engage in an international cooperation in the arena of sport science.
It was also the first time for the Japanese partner to bind up with Chinese local research institute. Taiji Houzawa indicated his expectation of a deep bilateral exchange through this platform to improve the sports sciences and sports skills for both countries.
Duoba sports training center base has been listed as the world's top in recent years, with its exclusive advantage plateau training which is also the key research field for the provincial sports science institute.
Sendai University is a sport sciences-specialized college, offering courses, such as athletic physiology, exercise nutriology and exercise training, as well as undertaking the training of outstanding athletes and coaches. The reputed alumni include skeleton racer Masaru Inada, footballer Hideki Uchidate, skeleton racer Kazuhiro Koshi and triathlete Takumi Obara.
Cooperation fields cover plateau training, physique and health, cycling, academic cooperation and talent training.
