The State Council, China's cabinet, has approved construction of a bonded area in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, officials at the General Administration of Custom said on Monday.
The area will cover an area of 6.17 square kilometers. Construction of the zone has started with a projected first-phase investment of up to 2 billion yuan.
