Beibu Gulf to launch 304 major projects

The Beibu Gulf Economic Zone in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will invest 80 billion yuan this year to construct 304 major projects with investments totaling more than 630 billion yuan, according to news released from a meeting analyzing the projects in the region.
The 304 major projects include 154 infrastructure projects, 99 industrial projects, 37 social projects and 14 energy-saving projects. A total of 58 projects, including Nanning Urban Rail Transit Line 1 Phase I will begin according to plan. A total of 52 projects, including Qinzhou- Chongzuo highway, will be completed. The construction of 152 projects, such as the Nanning power plants, will be ongoing.
During the 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), Guangxi's scheme for the economic zone consists of 2,375 projects, which include industry, ports, transportation, urban construction, logistics, tourism and culture and have a total investment of 2.6 trillion yuan.
