China will further improve the quality standards of products made in China as well as the quality of goods made for export, and it ill step up efforts to crack down on fake exports to Africa, said Yao Jian, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, during the regular monthly press conference on Thursday.
Yao Jian said China will continue to improve the quality standards of made-in-China goods in the next five years and believes the quality of export products will be greatly improved.
Although the quality of export commodities has been gradually improved, there were some instances when exports to Africa were suspected of being counterfeit or infringing on intellectually property rights. In order to promote the sound development of trade ties between China and Africa, China launched an activity to crack down on counterfeit exports to Africa.
Over the past decade, China-Africa bilateral cooperation has been expanding. China has become Africa's largest trading partner, and the African continent has become China's fourth largest overseas investment destination.
From Feb. 13 to Feb. 17, Chinese Minister of Commerce Chen Deming was invited to visit Morocco, Equatorial Guinea and Ghana. During the visit, Chen held talks with his counterparts and paid visits to a number of major projects under construction and the local markets.
