Carrefour to shut down two more

After unplugging stores in Dalian, Xi'an, Jiaozuo and Foshan, retail giant Carrefour is mulling to shut down another two stores in Changchun of Jilin Province and Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province due to bad management, the China Business News (CBN) reported Tuesday.
According to the report, insiders at the store in Chuncheng, Changchun, have confirmed that the store will be disconnected, while it still waits on the headquarters for the accurate time.
The store in Jinghu, Shaoxing is also waiting on headquarter's final decision, which may fall before May 1.
A former senior official with Carrefour attributed the closures –mostly in second and third-tier cities – to their location and poor relations with suppliers due to its charges of channel fees which put its prices in disadvantage.
Lian pointed out that the Carrefour needs to rethink clearly about its problems regarding the reasons aforementioned as well as employee training, system management and charging models or else more closures may doom the company's reputation.
