Chinese mobile company Huawei has announced the launch of a new smartphone and an updated tablet.
Both products are based on Android as the company looks to step up its presence in the high-end market.
Hunwei Device's chief marketing officer, Victor Xu, said the company is looking to ship more than 10 million smartphones in 2011 in comparison with 3 million last year.
The Ideos X3 is the first Huawei smartphone to use the 2.3 version of Android OS and has a 3.2 inch screen. The company claims that its thickness of just 11.2 millimeters makes it "the thinnest handset on the market today".
The Ideos X3 also contains its own online upgrade solution and a back up data service. The product will go on sale in March.
The new Huawei tablet is called the Ideos S7 Slim and is based on the older 22. Android. It has a 7-inch screen and offers 3G and Wi-Fi. It will be launched in April.
