Swedish automaker Volvo Automotive Group's Chinese operation officially has opened its headquarters in Shanghai, announced Stefan Jacoby, president and CEO of the group.
Its China technology center was established in the Jiading district of Shanghai.
The newly established center will collaborate with the group's China headquarters and other research and development facilities globally to design products that cater to Chinese customers.
Chinese media cited Shen Hui, senior vice-president of Volvo Group and president of its China operation, saying that the company's goal is to make Volvo one of the leading brands in China's luxury auto segment by 2015.
