Sears Holdings announced that retail veteran Chris Capuano will join the company as SVP and president Home Fashions. She will be responsible for the oversight, leadership and growth of the in-store and online merchandising of Home Fashions in both the Sears and Kmart formats.
"Chris has had extensive experience in leading all aspects of home fashions," said John Goodman, EVP Apparel and Home, Sears Holdings. "Her dedication and background will be a strong asset as we continue to evolve our brands at both formats."
Capuano most recently served as EVP, GMM Home and Footwear at Kohl's where she was responsible for the growth and profitability of more than 900 stores across the country. Prior to joining Kohl's, Chris was the SVP, Home for Federated Merchandising Group.
During her eight-year tenure, she held a number of positions of increasing responsibility and was credited with strong leadership development, successful exclusive and private brand launches and overall profitability improvement. This success mirrored her distinguished 16-year career with Macy's, where she was VP/DMM, Home Textiles, before joining Federated. At Macy's, Chris grew her career in the home and apparel categories starting as a Buyer and ending as SVP, Home.
"I am eager to welcome another accomplished retail veteran to our team," added Bruce Johnson, Interim CEO and President. "Chris's experience and track record of results will be a great compliment to the transformation already underway within our home and apparel business."
Capuano will be based in the company's Hoffman Estates Corporate offices.
