Pantone Color of the Year 2011(2)

Punchy accessories have always offered a way to enliven basic ensembles, but this season, designers styled
them with equally vibrant apparel. Matte bright pink suedes and velvets feel especially new. Just Cavalli featured
vivid Honeysuckle-hued agate jewelry edged in bright gold. Exotic skins and gleaming patents give the color
even more dimension.

Honeysuckle-hued ties, pocket squares, and plaid shirtings add playful charm to traditional tailored styles it
looks especially fresh when a shirt in the color is worn with a matching jacket. As bright pants gain acceptance,
pink becomes a go-to shade for khakis and 5-pocket styles. For men, this shade is a chameleon, working in
dandy, preppy, rave and surf/skate looks.

A classic color for children!s clothing, energetic reddish pink is always relevant in young markets. Girly-girls have
traditionally gravitated towards hue, but some of the freshest looks mix Honeysuckle into laidback tomboy
ensembles. No longer just for tutus and frilly dresses, bright blush tones are being shown in the form of boyish
separates and bohemian tie-dye prints. While pink is more unexpected for very young boys, pops of the color
work in layered tees, contrast trims and in color-blocked motifs.

With the ability to read sporty, sweet, edgy or flirty, Honeysuckle is an excellent color for the packaging of
products that speak to something active, festive, or are suggestive of sweet tastes and scents, says Eiseman. It
is also a natural choice for beauty products and their packaging. Vivid lips have emerged as a current key look,
and bold pink eyelids were in abundance on the S/S 11 runways. Women who embrace the highlighter-hued hair
dye trend are beginning to opt for Honeysuckle locks.
