China's 2010 software copyright registration doubles

IP right protection in China, particularly for copyright holders', has been strengthened over the past few years.

Figures released by the nation's Copyright Protection Center shows that software registration accepted last year was doubled, the volume outstripping 80,000. During the most 11th Five-Year Plan period, China's government unveiled various preferential policies to boost the development of high-tech companies and encourage innovative software.
Average annual growth of coyright registration at 37%
The growth of China's copyright registration has maintained at an average of 37 percent annual growth from 2006 to 2010 with game software registration topping the list. Most of the the copyright holders are in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
