He promised that China will create conditions for exchanges between the "Young Icebreakers" and the Chinese side.
Perry said the tenet and determination of the "Icebreakers" in promoting the Sino-British relationship remain unchanged although time has changed, and they are still devoted to strengthening the exchanges between the young people of both countries.
During the meeting, the representatives of the "Young Icebreakers" put forward suggestions on how to step up the Sino- British ties and friendly communications.
The 48 Group Club's history goes back to 1953, when a group of British businessmen from 48 companies broke through the then embargo against China and engaged in trade with the country. They later became known as the "Icebreakers." Over the past 50 years and more, they have been committed to promoting friendly cooperation with China.
The 48 Group Club launched the "Young Icebreakers" in 2008 to attract talented British youth in order to increase their understanding of and cooperation with China.
