China to levy anti-dumping tariff on EU equipment

Write: Camellia [2011-05-20]
The Ministry of Commerce of China announced on Monday it will levy a five-year anti-dumping duty on imported X-ray security inspection equipment from the European Union.
Starting from Jan. 23, 2011, such imports from the European Union are subject to anti-dumping tariffs between 33.5 percent and 71.8 percent. The Ministry of Commerce ruled that the dumping of such products from the European Union has a direct relationship with the substantial damage to China's X-ray security equipment industry.
The investigation was launched in October 2009 at the request of Chinese equipment manufacturers and the initial ruling was decided in June 2010.
