Daphne Earnings Fall 27% on Securities Markdown

Ladies footwear retailer Daphne International Holdings made net income of HK$190.04 million in the first six months of 2010, down by 27% year-on-year, the company reported August 25. The figure included a fair value loss on warrants of HK$136.36 million, according to the report. The company's total revenues expanded 15% year-on-year to HK$3.18 billion, with its Daphne brand generating HK$2.15 billion, the company's Shoebox brand contributing HK$592.15 million and revenue from the company's original equipment manufacturing customers increasing 31% year-on-year to HK$288.84 million, the report said.

By the end of June, the company had a total of 4,670 points-of-sale in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, according to the report. Earlier reports said the retailer plans to have a network of 10,000 stores by 2015.
