China: Lining leaves Adidas behind again

According to Lining's 2010 interim financial report, the revenue of Lining is 4.505 billion Yuan increasing 11.2% in the first half year of 2010. The net profit experiencing a growth of 23.1% reaches to 582 million Yuan. The number of retail stores reaches 7,478, increasing 229. Its revenue in China surpasses Adidas again. Lining group expects that its performance in the second half of 2010 will better than that in the first half because of the Asian Games in Guangzhou.

In 2009, Lining left Adidas behind in terms of sales in China. The revenue of Adidas in Great China market in the first half of 2010 is 403 million Euros, about 3.46 billion Yuan. The revenue of Lining during the same time is 4.505 billion Yuan. Lining launches a campaign of brand rebuilding this year. It changes new logo on 30th, June and starts to use its new slogan of “Make the Change".

Experts say that all these changes aim to strengthen its domestic market and explore international market.

Lining Group owns three major brands namely Lining, DHS and Lotto. The financial report shows that the revenue of its center brand Lining is 4.134 billion Yuan. The revenues of DHS and Lotto are 236 million and 47.336 million.
