Wenzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau signed a cooperation memo with Bureau Varitas (BV) recently. Based on this memo, BV will send inspection and quarantine experts to Wenzhou and provide quality inspection and authentication for shoes and garments. So these products can meet European REACH and ROHS standards when they are exported to EU.
In recent years, technical barriers in international trade happen more frequently. Enterprises of shoes and garments have to spend a lot of money in inspection and quarantine when their products are exported to EU. The cost for an enterprise could be as high as million a year. According to statistics, ten shoes enterprises in Wenzhou spend over five million Yuan in inspection.
In order to reduce enterprises' cost and time on inspection, Wenzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau began to cooperate in last August.
