Pearl River Delta is the first stop for Taiwanese enterprise entering into mainland. In recent years the industrial transformation to inland becomes a trend as production costs growing in Dongguan city.

Dongguan-based Taiwanese Business Association president Ye Chunrong expressed his view on industrial transformation, Mr. Ye said Foxconn moving to north did cause an impact on Taiwanese businessmen, but as a matter of facts the most of transformed enterprises belong to sectors of intensive labor and high consumption of energy, for instance Pou Chen Group set up its first mainland shoe production in Dongguan city, although expansion to inland, production in Dongguan still operate normally. Some of footwear enterprises are still willing to stay in Dongguan because of its good supporting industries and superior business environmental condition.

Expansion production focuses on the areas of Ganzhou in Jiangxi, Chenzhou in Hubei province, where are close to Guangdong province, but most of them remain their headquarters on Dongguan City.
