Hecun village in Zhejiang province is famous for its beautiful embroidered shoes. It is said that residents in this village made embroidered shoes early back to Qing Dynasty.
Embrodiered shoes of Hecun village are special in the lines of vamp, design of upper and decoration of sole. Colorful threads travel from the toe cap to the heal embroidering various pictures such as pretty flowers, splendid scenes and famous characters of plays.
In 2010, embroidered shoes from Hecun village are selected to be exhibited in 2010 Shanghai Expo. Residents here hope their embroidered shoes could be known by more and more people with the help of Expo.
