When low carbon becomes increasingly popular, home textile companies pay more attention to low-carbon economy. According to the vice-chairman of China National Textile And Apparel Council Zhang Donghui, some textile companies in the coastal area have already begun to adjust their product line structure. Industrial transfer and change of development mode will definitely spur the research of low-carbon and energy-saving products.

According to the incomplete statistics, private companies in Pearl River Delta Region have invested over 10 billion Yuan in low-carbon industries.

At the fifth council of China Home textile Association, the chairman of the association, Yang Zaohua put up that the approach of green and low carbon economy for home textile industry would be very important in dealing with international trade friction.

The general manager of Jiaxing Aote Textile and Garments Company, Zhou Jianxin agreed with Yang Zaohua. In June 2009, USA passed a bill that it will impose carbon tariff in 2020. What's more, EU prepares for this, too.

In 2010, the policy of structure transforming brings a challenge for textile industry. The competitiveness of Chinese home textile lies in the low cost. Experts in this field think that the policy of structure transforming will raise the cost especially in this low carbon prevailing period. As a result, the competitiveness of Chinese home textile companies weakens. However, in the long run, low carbon economy will stimulate companies' upgrade so as to strengthen their competitiveness.
