Shortly after a vist from Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the vice president of China Garment Association, Jiang Jiekai, rushes to Beijing News Plaza Hotel to attend the news conference for China INT'L Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC) on 18th March. Since it is the first expo after the economy recovery, the whole industry has great expectation. However, Jiang Jiekai talks about the difficulty of recruiment in coastal cities in Zhejiang Province and Jiangsu Province.

Recovery

Reporters learn from the organizer of CHIC that booths were sold out early in October, 2009 and it is difficult for exibitors to find a booth. More than 100,000 pre-registerd vistors will do business on the scene. Until now, more than 900 garment brands from 23 countries and regions have applied for the exibiton.

The vice president of China Garment Association, Cheng Dapeng says that the performance hall was located in the exhibiton hall last year while there is no spare space at all this year.

The director of exhibiton department from China World Trade Center Company,Sun Hongwei says that many famous overseas garment companies have concerns about entering China market because some Chinese companies imitate original products too fast. This 2010 expo will urge chinese enterprises to reach a consensus on protection of Intellectual Property Rights.

Difficulty of Recruitment

At the press conference, Jiang Hengjie describes the difficulty of recruiment he saw in Zhejiang. In his remarks, bosses of grament companies in Hanzhou are willing to pay 3000 yuan per month rather than past 500-800 yuan or 1500 yuan to their employees. What's more interesting, present workers are mainly the generations of 80's or 90's. When they hunt for jobs, their first question is whether the dorm has internet line or warter heater. Moreover, they are reluctant to work over time.

Jiang Hengjie contines, many owners of private companies have already been aware of this promble. They won' t treat the new generation worker as they did to the old ones. Before the leave of Spring Festival, bosses talked to their workers that you should go back to work soon after the Sprin Festival and if you can introduce your relatives to work here, we will increase your salary to 10%-20%. Jiang added that it is due to the increase of orders after the export recovery.
