Taiwan: BOFT lauds program to help textile firms

A program to help Taiwan textile manufacturers expand overseas has achieve great results, said the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, yesterday. The program has helped 17 local functional textile manufacturers find overseas partners, many of which are well-known foreign brands such as Kwintet, Fechheimer, Aramark, Arc, Teryx, Oakley and Eddie Bauer, BOFT said.

As much as US$170 billion worth of business opportunities may be achieved due to this effort, which also aims to help Taiwan textile makers upgrade their operations and make value-added products, BOFT said.
