Toyota will resume operations in China in June, two months earlier than expected, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co. announced Wednesday.
The carmaker said a recent companywide review indicated production would recover to normal levels in its factories in China in June.
Meanwhile, Lexus and other imported Toyota autos will also become available in China again next month, but deliveries of some models might be delayed, the company said.
A massive earthquake and tsunami that hit northeastern Japan in March disrupted Toyota's supply chains, resulting in the suspension of production in its overseas factories.
Toyota, Japan's largest automaker, said last Friday that its sales fell 23 percent last month from one year earlier to 48,700 vehicles in the world's largest auto market.
