Statistics from the General Administration of Customs have found that the number of provessing firms has risen in China's central and western provinces, mainly attracted by ample supply of inexpensive labor cost there.
And, a majority of the processing enterprises there are invested by private businesspersons.
In 2010, the enterprises in the Midwest provinces had a total import-export value of 244.94 billion US Dollars, growing 44.4 percent oer the previous year. The growth is higher than the country's eastern provinces.
In addition to a rapid growth of processing firms in Jiangxi, Hubei, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces have caught up, which saw more than 200 export-oriented firms set up on their land in 2010.
