Jiuquan Museum

Overview

The museum houses over 6000 items which are from the Neolithic Age, West Han Dynasty, Wei, Jin and the North and South dynasties, Sui and Tang dynasties, respectively.

Features

The museum is mainly dedicated to the culture of the Silk Road, which showcases its beginning, development. Music and dances brought by the businessmen from central Asia on the Silk Road are another features of this museum.   

Location

Jiuquan Museum is located in No 56, Eat Road, close to Jiuquan Park.

Collections

Stone tools, potteries, copper wares, jade items, gold wares, sliver wares, stone carvings, silk, scriptures, ancient books and paintings, brick paintings and carvings.

Opening hours: open to travelers all days from May 1st to 15th October. Instruction service is also provided for free during this period.
