Students of the Workshop of Civil Servants of Hong Kong Visited NBCP

On the afternoon of October 29, 2008, a total of 25 persons from the Government Affairs Workshop for Civil Servants of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), headed by Chu Yam Yuen, Deputy Commissioner of Inland Revenue of Hong Kong SAR Government visited National Bureau of Corruption Prevention (NBCP). Li Yang, Deputy Director of NBCP Office held a talk with the students.

Li Yang first introduced the establishment background, structure and main responsibilities of NBCP and the major works launched after establishment. After that, Li Yang had discussions with these students on issues such as corruption prevention according to legal jurisdiction, corruption prevention in private departments, launching education of clean governance and conducting international cooperation in the framework of United Nations Convention against Corruption.

Chu Yam Yuen expressed his thanks to the careful arrangement made by NBCP on behalf of all the students of the workshop, saying that through this visit, they learned more information about the policy of combating corruption and upholding integrity and the detailed measures of corruption prevention in the mainland. He hoped to strengthen exchanges between the civil servants in Hong Kong and the mainland in the future.

Note: Government Affairs Workshop for Civil Servants of Hong Kong SAR is one of the important training courses of China National School of Administration. The main purpose is to deepening the understanding of high-level civil servants in Hong Kong SAR on the system and policies of the Central Government and strengthening the communications and mutual understandings between high-level civil servants in Hong Kong and the mainland so that they can play bigger roles in the Government of Hong Kong SAR.
