According to the planning scheme, nurseries in the western suburbs will be enlarged from 54.6 hectares to 69.5 hectares. And in October, the forest park will be built and opened to citizens for free. Forest park is the only and the biggest comprehensive park in the western of Jinan. It shows a layout landscape of one circle, one axe, three parts, five lakes and nine parks by relying on surrounding road of city park and taking current nursery stock as its basic elements. By making use of rolling topography, trees will be planted in sloping fields at higher place and grasses will be planted in wet land at lower place. Lakes and rivers spread reasonably and the terrain of the park makes it adapt to the seasonal variation of water level. The earth dug up from lakes can be used to build rolling topography to form microclimate in the lake. Meanwhile, the reasonable distribution of lakes, islands and rivers can solve problems of water retaining and draining in rainy season. The whole project, through digging lakes and piling mountains, building main circle road, perfecting assort service facilities and enlarging usage of arbor, forms a landscape with rich natural landform, physiognomy and community of plants and creates a simple, great, modern and fashionable comprehensive city park by integrating ecology, relaxation, entertainment and fitness.
