Dongguan is quickening its LED industrial chain layout and intends to team up with Taiwan-based companies.
In 2015, a complete LED semiconductor lighting industrial chain, consisting of more than 200 companies, will be formed in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, south China. Annual production value of the LED lighting industry will reach CNY 15 billion.
Currently, China has four LED industry cluster regions. Dongguan is an important city for the Pearl River Delta cluster region. There are over 60 LED lighting related companies in the city, with sales revenues of more than CNY 2 billion.
However, the development of the city's LED industry is unbalance. Due to restrictions resulting from technology and cost, the LED industry mainly focuses on the downstream sector.
Thus, the city is suggested to set up a LED industry association to guide and organize related companies to form a LED industry alliance.
In addition, it should establish a service system, including project construction companies, technology services, quality standard, as well as supervision system.
