A list of press spokesman for eleven municipal CPC Committee departments of Dongguan was released during a joint session held on Monday (Mar.1). Dongguan became the first city in Guangdong Province to establish the press spokesman system for the municipal CPC Committee.
Previously in January of 2010, the government also released a spokespersons' list that included 88 representatives all each governments departments and townships departments on which there are even mobile phone numbers. The published list includes detailed information such as their work department, name, position and office telephone numbers. Contact information for the press spokesman's assistants is also included in the list.
According to the Information Office of Dongguan, the release of spokespersons' information will bring more convenience for media interviews as journalists can get in touch with the spokespersons directly. It is also designed to advance public awareness of government information.
