Migrant workers return to Dongguan after Lantern Festival

Write: Sabella [2011-05-20]

According to data released by the city's Spring Festival Transportation Office, approximately 125,000 people have returned to Dongguan on March 1, following the Lantern Festival, an increase of 2.3% as compared with last year.

With the economy in the Pearl River Delta warming up, the orders received by many enterprises in Dongguan are increasing. Labor recruitment has peaked and a great many migrant workers are being attracted here to find rewarding jobs. This is a major reason why the passenger flow to Dongguan has shown an increase.

Insiders analyzed that the traffic peak may last until March 3, the 18th day of the 1st lunar month.
