E-commerce platform built for export-oriented enterprises in Daxing District

On May 30, an opening ceremony was held for the launch of the e-commerce platform for export-oriented enterprises in Daxing District at the Bailian Qingcheng Shopping Center of Shanghai Century Lianhua Supermarket Development Company. From then on, foreign trade enterprises in Daxing District can realize all transaction functions via this platform.

Export-oriented products produced by foreign trade enterprises in Daxing District, including garments, metal-work and pharmaceutical products, enjoy a relatively strong competitive edge in the overseas markets. The previous promotion-based e-commerce model is no longer able to meet the demands of foreign trade enterprises. The Commerce Bureau of Daxing District has taken the initiative to cooperate with DHgate.com and build an e-commerce platform for enterprises in Daxing District, with a view to providing a one-stop online foreign trade transaction solution.

Export-oriented enterprises can realize all transaction functions via the e-commerce platform, including uploading products information, replying to inquires about goods, shipping and logistics, as well as collecting payments. At present, over 90 foreign trade factories, trading companies and online businesses, including Beijing Vicutu Garments Manufacturing Company, have signed up to become members of this transaction platform.

Products to be transacted are mainly garments. By April 2009, enterprises in Daxing District which have registered as members have concluded nearly 4,000 foreign trade transactions via the online transaction platform.
