SDUST Delegation Visited Australian Higher Learning Institutions

An SDUST delegation headed by Vice-President Wang Zhigang visited University of Wollongong, University of Queensland and Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE from November 25 to December 4.

At Wollongong, the party was warmly received by Prof. Joe Chicharo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International), Ms Robyn Phillips, Director of Faculty International Support Unit and Dr. Bill Damachis, Director of International Education. The two sides discussed issues related to 2+2 undergraduate programs for mechatronic engineering, civil engineering and electronic information engineering, mutual recognition of credits, student and faculty exchange and co-operative research, and reached agreement on signing a memorandum of co-operation.

The SDUST delegation also had exchanges with Prof. Chris Cook, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Prof. Philip Ugunbona, Dean of Faculty of Informatics and visited some laboratories.

At Queensland, the party met with Prof. Zhiguo Yuan, Deputy Director of the university s water management center and visited faculty from SDUST.
While meeting NMIT leaders, Wang Zhigang conveyed SDUST President Wang Chunqiu s greetings. Both sides expressed wish for future co-operations to train more qualified students with practical abilities.
The visit strengthened ties with Australian higher learning institutions and concluded with success.
