Liu Yiping, our party secretary was warmly greeted by our alumni in the US

Jiangsu Higher-Education delegation paid their first visit to America from June 4th to 19th. In the US they planed to visit some famous universities and receive trainings. Liu Yiping, secretary of the Party committee, took part in the tour. During the time, the representatives were warmly received by alumni. The achievements the alumni have made in the US were faithfully appreciated, which also made Professor Liu much touched.

On the 15th, the delegation arrived at the MarylandUniversity where Wen Fuzhong, Zhu Yuejian, Wang Xueliang, Cai Ming, Li Xiaofan and professor Zhang Dalin bid the delegation a warm welcome. In the Department of Meteorology professor Zhang Dalin and Wen Fuzhong gave reports and answered questions and in the evening there was a banquet in the honor of the delegation.

The delegation had a great esteem for the outstanding achievements and contributions the alumni have made in the field of meteorology across the world and had a high praise for the education of our university.

On the 17th, at the invitation of the Alumni Union, professor Liu Yipin took part in a 35 people s gathering in Zhu Yuejian s house, where Professor Liu has a introduction about the development of our university and answered questions concerned by the alumni. They have deep discussions about the future of our university and many beneficial suggestions were put forward. The alumni expressed that they would provide more active help for the development of our university.

One day was certainly not enough for their friendship. The get-together was not finished untill 8:30 in the evening and it wouldn t be over if not for professor Liu s flying back to China in the early morning next day. Zhu Yuejian and Li Xiaofan saw professor Liu back to his hotel.

The alumni s love for Alma Mater is very touching.
