Students from School of Design Won Seven Red Dot Awards in Design Concept Contest 2010

Red Dot of Germany, the world-renowned design contest institution, recently announced the winners for the Industrial Design Concept Contest 2010. Students from School of Design, Jiangnan University stood out in this contest again and won seven awards, of which two were the top prizes called best of best . In recent years, students from School of Design constantly preformed well in this contest. Altogether, They have won 19 awards from red dot (three top prizes).

The winners of these awards were mainly sophomores, juniors, seniors and postgraduates. These awards are proofs of the sound quality of the research, education and attitudes of exploration at School of Design. In the meantime, they are the best gifts from the students to the 50^th anniversary of School of Design.

Red Dot Award, which has a 56 years history, originated from Germany. With the nickname Oscar in the International Design Circle , Red Dot enjoys a world-wide reputation, and is considered the most authoritative design contest in the world. It consists of three parts namely products design award, communication design and design concept award. It s commonly believed that students from school of design are about to win more awards and achieve more breakthroughs in international design contests.

These awards also enabled Jiangnan University to keep the record of getting the most Red Dot Awards in China for three straight years.
