The Tianzhu Cliff Temple faces east. It leans against the Lotus Mountains in the west and faces the South River of Rongjiang in the east. The temple is built among deep stone valley. It’s divided into two parts: the front hall and the back hall. The front hall is built with granite wall and tile roof. There are four Chinese words” Tian Zhu Ancient Cliff” carved in the gate. The back hall uses a natural huge stone as the roof. Three Chinese words” Tian Zhu Cliff” are carved in the stone. Dozens of statues are placed in the temple, including Ru Lai, four heavenly guardians, eighteen arhats and Guan Yin. In the back hall, there is a tunnel leading to the stone valley at the back of the temple. A clear spring flows around the temple. The huge stone on the top of the temple links up with rugged grotesque stones, extending to the top of Light Mountain. They look like a dragon. Therefore, it’s called the “Light Mountain Stone Dragon”. Around the temple, there are a lot of grotesque stones and strange caves, such as, the Yangdi Stone, the Baimian Cliff and the Dengtian Cave. Many fascinating legends are wildly spread here.
