Yuan ChonghuanYuan Chonghuan Memorial Park is constructed to commemorate Yuan Chonghuan, a famous general who fought bravely against the Qing troop’s invasion in the late Ming Dynasty. The park, covering an area of 110,000 square meters, is made up of Yuan Chonghuan’s Statue, Former Residence, Ancestral Temple, Tomb, and Memorial Hall as well as the Ming Street and the Ancient Great Wall.
The park, as an expansion based on the site of Yuan Chonghuan’s former residence, is totally in the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty. Yuan’s Former Residence is rebuilt in the style of Guangdong civilian residence in the Ming Dynasty. Yuan’s Statue, made by the famous Chinese sculptor Panhe, has dignified appearance and truly reproduces the remarkable demeanor of Yuan Chonghuan himself. Yuan’s Ancestral Temple is all in wooden structure, with the real charm of the Ming style.
