Sino-Canadian Economic Statistics Project Work Conference Held in Beijing

Sino-Canadian Economic Statistics Project Work Conference held in Beijing on April 9. Mr. Xu Yifan, Deputy Commissioner of NBS, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Mr. Xu Yifan pointed out that, Sino-Canadian Economic Statistics Project has great significance on the economic structure of China's modern data acquisition system, and perfect China's economic statistics. The establishment and implementation of the "Overall Framework for Integrated Enterprise Survey" will help to enhance the level of directory updates maintenance and sampling techniques, promote the reform of China's enterprises survey. Mr. Xu stressed that we should band together the implementation of the Sino-Canadian Economic Statistics Project with conventional statistical works, readily applied the techniques, methods, and concepts which have learned from Canadian during the Project implementation.

Mr. Xu Yifan have requirements on pilot survey which would be carried out: first, leaders must attach importance to the pilot survey work, earnest study and solve the various practical problems in the work of the pilot survey; second, we must strictly implement the pilot survey programme, provide gists in order to further improve the programme; third, strengthen the training; fourth, hire investigators with high-quality, passion and work experience.

Messrs. Meng Qingxin, Derictor-General, Services Survey Center of NBS, presided over the meeting and lay out the next stage work; Zhang Jun, Deputy Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, introduced the project background. The relevant staff of ServicesSurveyCenter explained the objectives of the project and carried through the vocational training.

The leaders and backbones from the pilot economic statistics project, and related regions of Survey Organizations of NBS, participated in the meeting.
