Mr. Lin Xianyu, Deputy Commissioner of NBS, interviewed a Delegation headed by Mr. David L. Calhoun, Chairman of the Executive Board, and Chief Executive Officer of The Nielsen Company, Transnational Group of Market Research Industry, on March 27.
Mr. Lin Xianyu welcomed the Delegation warmly. He pointed out that, rapid development of current domestic and foreign private survey to a certain extent formed complement of the Census and statistics. NBS in doing a good job for the government to provide timely and accurate statistical data also committed to the community on how to provide statistical information services in a better way. The Nielsen Company s market survey and research experiences as the references might useful to the development of Chinese relevant survey industries. Mr. Lin hoped that The Nielsen Company could become a model for investigation in accordance with the law norms in China, and satisfied with the stage results acquired between subordinate AGB Nielsen Market Research Co. Ltd., The Nielsen Company and China Economic Monitoring and Analysis Center (CEMAC). Mr. David Calhoun briefed development circumstances of The Nelson Company in the world, especially in China, and focuses on its advanced research methods and investigative techniques. Mr. Calhoun expressed admiration for highly effective works and standard management and help for foreign investigation agencies of Chinese Government. He hoped that The Nielsen Company could become a good partner of Chinese government statistics departments, and looks forward its experiences, technologies and global resources could help to the works of Chinese government statistics departments. Mr. Yao Jingyuan, Chief Economist of NBS, discussed further cooperation intentions with Mr. David Calhoun after the meeting. Messrs. Xu Tiefu, Director-General, and Pan Jiancheng, Deputy Director-General, CEMAC, Zhang Jun, Deputy Director-General, Department of International Cooperation, NBS, and Itzhak Fisher, Executive Chairman of Nielsen Online, also attended the meeting. |
