Saloon Car Production Decreased in February

According to the statistics of NBS, 144,200 saloon cars were produced in February throughout the country, dropped by 23% as compared with the same month of last year. The accumulative total production of saloons in January and February was 329,300, down by 1.5% as compared with the same period of last year.

The output of saloon cars was transitory rose in January but declined obviously in February, the outputs of this month approached the lowest level in these two years. In spite of the influences of Chinese Spring Festival, the accumulative total decreased by 1.5% indicated the weakness of saloon cars market. For the moment, the rose of franchisers price stimulated the transitory rose of terminal sales market of saloon market in January, but still could not inflected the downtrend of manufacturers guidable price. The saloon car market appeared lumpy depreciate characters again nowadays; face to such situation, customers best choice is waiting for the right time to purchase unless necessary requirements.

The uncertainty factors of saloon cars consume circumstance increased obviously, which blocked the purchase appetence of customers; also, growth rate of oil price distinctly controlled the auto car market. Produce and sale of saloon cars remained high point over one year since last March, such infaust opening increased pressures on the saloon car enterprises annual plan.

Due to the impacts of a rise in steel price, exchange rate and whole car price, the profit of auto cars manufacturing was down by 61.5% in first two months, of which, whole car decreased by 78.4%, deficit over 50%. Among 34 major auto car producers, there are 10 enterprises dropped in their profits, 13 of them having deficit, only 11 of them having an increase in their profits. Furthermore, while the whole car prices depreciated in last year, the accessories price slightly dropped simultaneity, price relations appeared irrationality comparably, fortress of accessories price appeared flexible, and profits of saloon cars accessories would be first declined in this year during this decade.
