The Total Retail Sale of Consumer Goods Increased in September

From January to September, the total retail sale of consumer goods was 4,508.1 billion yuan, a rise of 13.0% as compared with the same month of last year. Of which, the total retail sale of consumer goods was 549.5 billion yuan in September, a rise of 12.7%.

In term of different regions, the retail sale of urban consumer goods was 3,030.9 billion yuan, rose 14.0 % over the same month of previous year; for county and below county level, the total retail sale of consumer goods was 1,477.2 billion yuan, increase 11.0%.

In term of different industries, the retail sale of wholesale and retail trade sector was 3,760.6 billion yuan, increased by 12.8% as compared with the same month of last year; catering and beverage sector was 619.7 billion yuan, a rise of 17.3%; and other sectors was 127.8 billion yuan, a rise of 0.3%.

In term of different merchandises, the retail sale of wholesale and retail trade above designated size, the foodstuff, clothing and commodities rose by 15.1%, 19.5% and 19.3% respectively as compared with the same period of last year. Of which, gain and oil rose by 38.7%; that of meat, poultry and eggs rose by 19.0%; that of garments, shoes and caps rose by 20.8%; that of culture and office facilities rose by 10.9%; that of sports and entertainment appliances rose by 18.7%; that of daily articles rose by 11.7%; that of household electrical appliances and AV facilities rose by 16.1%; that of cosmetics rose by 20.4%; that of furniture rose by 14.3%; that of construction and decoration material rose by 27.8%; that of jewelries rose by 15.7%; that of communication equipment rose by 20.1%; that of motor vehicles rose by 13.1%; that of petroleum and relative products rose by 38.3%.
