The Total Retail Sale of Consumer Goods Increased in October

The total retail sale of consumer goods was 584.7 billion yuan in October, a rise of 12.8% as compared with the same month of last year.

In term of different regions, the retail sale of urban consumer goods was 390.5 billion yuan, rose 13.6 % over the same month of previous year; for county and below county level, the total retail sale of consumer goods was 194.2 billion yuan, increase 11.2%.

In term of different industries, the retail sale of wholesale and retail trade sector was 484.5 billion yuan, increased by 12.7% as compared with the same month of last year; catering and beverage sector was 84.7 billion yuan, a rise of 15.8%; and other sectors was 15.5 billion yuan, a rise of 1.1%.

In term of different merchandises, the retail sale of wholesale and retail trade above designated size, the foodstuff, clothing and commodities rose by 11.4%, 15.0% and 24.1% respectively as compared with the same period of last year. Of which, gain and oil rose by 36.9%; that of meat, poultry and eggs rose by 6.4%; that of garments, shoes and caps rose by 17.0%; that of culture and office facilities rose by 15.7%; that of sports and entertainment appliances rose by 16.9%; that of daily articles rose by 13.0%; that of household electrical appliances and AV facilities rose by 23.7%; that of cosmetics rose by 15.2%; that of furniture rose by 11.5%; that of construction and decoration material rose by 20.8%; that of jewelries rose by 11.1%; that of communication equipment rose by 26.91%; that of motor vehicles rose by 26.7%; that of petroleum and relative products rose by 34.8%.
