SAF constructs integrated logistic command platform

The new-generation of integrated logistic command platform of the Second Artillery Force (SAF) of the Chinese People s Liberation Army (PLA) made its debut in an actual-combat drill, symbolizing an overall improvement of the information-based systematic support capability of the strategic missile force of the PLA.

The reporters saw in the command hall of the drill that 10-odd sub-systems such as command and control, combat support, specialized service, material supply and storage and logistics management of the information-based logistics were interconnected, forming a nerve center of the logistic command platform.

With the release of the drill order, this logistic command platform began to operate at high speed. The information transmission chain supported by the electric information maps of advanced technology such as interpretation of enormous information, remote decision-making support, communication and materials was clear with high efficiency.

The reporters accompanying a launching troop unit witnessed on their way of long-rang maneuver that the accompanying support net formed by military roads, loading and unloading platforms, oil depots, material storages and weapons and equipment repairing shops organized the purchase, allocation and transportation of materials in real time according to the combat requirements and the drill process.

The forward comprehensive support battalion and emergency support elements exchanged information in real time according to battlefield situation, so as to implement timely, accurate and efficient field support to the troops.

By integrating the front and the rear thousand li apart, the command data chain blended the support elements scattered in various exercise areas, realizing the real-time mastering of support resources and real-time control of support activities.
