Video Conference on National Agricultural Publicity Work Held in Beijing

April 26- a video conference on national agricultural publicity work was held in Beijing. Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture delivered an important address at the meeting.

Han Changfu pointed out that agricultural publicity work was an integral part in agriculture and rural economic work, with great significance in agricultural development. Agricultural authorities at all levels should take leadership responsibility so that agricultural publicity work could promote agriculture and rural economy, and the whole society would care about and support the work of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, making new contribution to stable and fast development of agriculture and rural economy.

Wei Chao an, Vice Minister of Agriculture attended and addressed the meeting. He pointed out that agricultural authorities at all levels should understand the importance of agricultural publicity work from a new perspective and against the backdrop of a new situation. Agricultural authorities should put agricultural publicity work on top of their agenda, integrating publicity work into their work.

At the meeting, agricultural authorities at all levels were required to enhance press release and increase transparency and public credibility in their work; improve guiding of public opinion in case of incidences related to agriculture and scale up information work in the new situation, so as to provide references to decision-makings.
