Sinopec Guangzhou Petrochemical is scheduled to refine 1.05-mil mt of crude in January 2011, with daily throughput up 8% from the previous month, a refinery source told C1.
The refinery would start turnarounds of some units by turns from Feb 10, which might last for two months, as C1 reported earlier. The units included a 5.2-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit, a 1.5-mil-mt/yr fluid catalytic unit, a 1.8-mil-mt/yr hydro-refining unit and a 1-mil-mt/yr delayed coker.
Guangzhou Petrochemical, located in Guangzhou City in South China's Guangdong Province, has a topping capacity of 15.7-mil mt per year. It refines only foreign crude, most of which is from the Middle East. It is designed to produce 220,000mt of ethylene annually.
