China: Shandong independent refineries' run rate rises tad to 42.2% Thu

Operation rates of independent refineries in Shandong Province averaged 42.2% Thursday, slightly up 0.7 percentage points from one week ago, up 10.2 percentage points compared with a year earlier, C1's survey showed.
China Offshore Bitumen increased crude throughput by 1,000mt to 9,000mt per day in the past week due to hefty feedstock stock, according to a source with the refinery. The other refineries mostly recorded steady run rates in the period.
As of Dec 30, a total of 27 independent refineries were in operation in Shandong, feedstock throughput of which added up to around 69,000mt per day, up 1,000mt on week.
Shandong independent refineries may continue to boost run rates in the coming week, because domestic oil product traders would stock up ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, market sources expected.
C1's survey involves in 32 independent refineries, with annual oil refining capacities aggregating 60.05-mil mt, accounting for 90% of the total topping refineries of Shandong independent refineries.
