Asia: Benzene prices decline in Asia

Write: Ishver [2011-05-20]
Benzene prices on Wednesday declined in Asia. Prices fell on the back of softer crude and naphtha rates on the one hand coupled with a decline in other aromatics including toluene. Softer prices of benzene in the west exacerbated the bearish pricing undertone in Asia.

FOB Korea prices of benzene were assessed down at the USD 975/mt levels with buying interest pegged at below these price levels, FOB mark.

Domestic China demand for Benzene also witnessed a dull undertone. Domestic China prices were at around Yuan 6900/mt, on Wednesday.

Toluene prices meanwhile were assessed down at the USD 925/mt FOB Korea levels and USD 930/mt CFR China levels.
