Sinopec Xi'an Petrochemical supplied about 200mt per day of raw gas as residential-consuming LPG after wrapping up maintenance Wednesday, according to a refinery source.
The volume was higher than the normal level of 120mt per day due to malfunction of gas fractionation unit, the source said.
Xi'an Petrochemical supplied only 50mt of LPG daily since it went into turnaround on Oct 15, added the source.
The increased supply is expected to exert more downward pressures on Shaanxi LPG market, where LPG demand shrank after heating season started on Nov 15, market sources deemed.
Daily LPG supply in Shaanxi climbed to 600mt Friday, sharply up 31.6% from one week ago,a data showed.
Yan'an Refinery in Shaaxi, which cut LPG supply on landslide earlier, had recently resumed normal LPG output of about 1,700mt daily.
LPG producers in Shaanxi may face more pressures to sell their resources to Central China's Hunan Province, as Changling Petrochemical there would bring on stream a newly-built 8-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit on Nov 22.
Xi'an Petrochemical, located in Xi'an City of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, has a topping capacity of 3-mil mt per year and a secondary conversion capacity of 2.5-mil mt per year. Its supplies LPG to not only the local market, but also Central China and Guangdong Province in South China.
