China: PetroChina's daily crude throughput to hit historical high in Nov

Refineries affiliated to PetroChina are estimated to refine 12.01-mil mt of crude in November, with daily throughput hitting record-high 400,333mt, up 2.1% on month, a survey found.

Qinzhou refinery and Qingyang Petrochemical would continue to increase crude throughput in the month after they wrapped up trial runs. In addition, Jilin Petrochemical is scheduled to put a 6-mil-mt/yr crude distillate unit into production in mid-November. However, Fushun Petrochemical, Jinzhou Petrochemical and Lanzhou Petrochemical would record less crude consumption due to turnarounds or feedstock shortage.

PetroChina's crude throughput is expected to rise further in December when Fushun Petrochemical and Jinzhou Petrochemical would resume operations and the other refineries would mostly be in normal operations.

Starting from Nov 9, C1 increases the total crude processing capacity of PetroChina's subsidiary refineries to 174-mil mt per year by involving some small refineries of the oil giant with annual capacities below 1-mil-mt into C1's survey.
