These contracts also closed in on each other after the previous week's milder weather caused them to diverge.
The German GASPOOL and PEG Nord day-ahead contracts traded flat to each other while the German NetConnect contract traded at a 5 euro cent spread from these contracts. The Dutch TTF day-ahead remained lower than the others, with a spread of 15 euro cent to the NCG day-ahead.
Traders said that a cold weather front and a good gas supply in the Continent this week contributed to the relative stability of the prompt prices in Europe.
The Dutch TTF day-ahead was heard midday Monday at Eur18.15/MWh, flat to Friday's closing price.
The German NetConnect day-ahead traded at Eur18.30/MWh, a 5 euro cent rise from Friday.
Both the German GASPOOL and French PEG Nord day-ahead contracts traded at Eur18.35/MWh. The GASPOOL remained flat to Friday while the PEG Nord day-ahead was 10 euro cent lower.
Temperatures on the Continent Monday were fairly low compared with the previous week, according to weather service CustomWeather.
France was hit the hardest, with temperatures dropping to 5 degrees Celsius below seasonal norm. The Netherlands saw temperatures drop to 2 C below the seasonal norm Monday and will remain at this level for most of the week. German temperatures dropped to 3-4 C below what is normal for the
season.
The forward curve contracts remained stable as well midday Monday. The Dutch TTF Cal 11 heard a slight 10 euro cent dip Monday, trading at Eur19.35/MWh.
